Imperial Valley Coming Together

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Our Neighbors Helping Neighbors Initiative emphasizes community solidarity and support for the most vulnerable populations—low-income families, seniors, homeless, farmworkers, and children. It highlights the tangible impact of charitable aid while inspiring participation, donations, and volunteerism.

Salud Sin Fronteras: Focus on food distribution, clothing drives, and general basic needs for the Imperial Valley most vulnerable residents. The overall goal is to mobilize community resources and generosity, reduce poverty-related hardships, and strengthen the social fabric of the Imperial Valley by emphasizing care, collaboration, and lasting impact.

Every Ability Counts

Our Every Ability Counts Initiative centers on inclusion, accessibility, and empowerment—celebrating the strengths and contributions of people with disabilities while promoting equal access to opportunities, services, and community life in the Imperial Valley. It aims to shift public perception from charity to empowerment and participation, fostering a community that values all residents.

Accessibility for All: Advocates for accessible transportation, housing, public spaces, and digital inclusion, while encouraging businesses to hire inclusively and participate in disability employment programs. Our goal is to create a fully inclusive Imperial Valley where people with disabilities have equal access, visibility, and opportunity, and where the entire community participates in removing barriers—physical, economic, and social.

Intergenerational Learning

Our Intergenerational Learning Initiative focuses on enhancing quality of life, health, and engagement for senior citizens in the Imperial Valley. It emphasizes respect, care, and opportunities for active participation, while addressing social, health, and economic challenges facing older adults and youth.

Share a story, Build A Future: We believe every story matters — whether told by elders who have lived it, youth who will shape tomorrow, or families that bridge generations. We create art spaces where culture thrives, connections deepen, and voices of all ages are honored.

Becoming Prosperous

The Imperial Valley is positioned as a place where residents and newcomers can launch businesses, build careers, and strengthen the local economy. Our Becoming Prosperous Initiative highlights the region’s unique advantages—agriculture, renewable energy, logistics, and cross-border commerce—while emphasizing support networks, training programs, and pathways to success.

Entrepreneurship & Development: Position Imperial Valley as a hub of opportunity, attracting local talent, inspiring entrepreneurship, and retaining skilled workers, while fostering a sense of pride and investment in the region.

Environmental Justice

Our Environmental Justice Initiative works to ensure that Imperial Valley communities impacted by pollution have access to clean air, clean water, open and green space, and infrastructure development that improves healthy outcomes. It’s not just about the absence of harm, but enabling health, well‐being, and community vibrancy.

Lithium Valley: Environmental and health impacts related to Imperial Valley lithium development – though vital to the clean energy transition – threatens already overburdened communities, fragile ecosystems, and sacred tribal lands. The POWER EJ Initiative supports lithium development and its workforce development opportunities, but works to ensure that environmental and public health safeguards are put in place.

Protect Our Health, Water, and Culture - Sign to Hold Lithium Mining Accountable
